Post-show Release

The 6th International TIR’2010 Freight and Commercial Vehicle Show was staged on the ground of the International Exhibition Centre at 15 Brovarsky Ave. on October 5 through 8. Organizers are Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine, Ministry of Industrial Policy of Ukraine, Ukrautoprom Association of Ukrainian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers, and AUTOEXPO Ukrainian Exhibition Company. Included in OICA’s (International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers) Calendar TIR’2010 proved its high status of the national Freight Vehicle Show with interesting and rich exhibit.

The major group of world manufacturers of main-line prime movers, trucks, commercial and special motor technology was exhibiting at the TIR’2010 Show. Renowned manufacturers of heavy-duty trucks such as SCANIA, HUINDAI TRUCKS, IVECO, ISUZU, KRAZ, KAMAZ and MAZ erected their booths at the Show.

Having presented complete line of its vehicles from all-metal IVECO Daily van to Stralis main-line prime mover, the Italian brand IVECO gave visitors a chance to appraise the utility of IVECO bus. Traditional bus brands prepared an interesting display as well. In addition to above-mentioned SCANIA and MAZ (the Minsk Automobile Plants first demonstrated MAZ 251 coach liner in Ukraine), such manufacturers as BAZ, BOGDAN and domestic market debutant HIGER presented many kinds of intercity buses, coaches and new types of urban passenger buses. Preparation for EURO 2012 caused a real boom in the market of passenger transport.

Diverse and not less interesting exhibit of commercial vehicles included vans and small trucks from RENAULT, GAZ, BOGDAN, etc.

RENAULT offered 7 models out of this kind of motor technology: from Master of 1691 kg carrying capacity to light Logan Pick-up and Logan MCV station wagon.

GAZ Group brought to TIR-2010 brand-new models, which were first presented at the Moscow International Motor Show at the turn of August. Presentation of diesel and gas-diesel news such as Aeroport Luxe, Okhotnik and Mobile Shynomontage on the base of GAZel Business aroused a great interest of TIR’2010 visitors. President of GAZ Group Bou Andersson came personally to present these vehicles. They appeared at the show not only for the sake of demand research. These vehicles present the GAZ Group state-of-the-art engineering solutions to be most likely delivered to buyers already today. Upgraded GAZel Business emerged in the Ukrainian market only a few months ago, and now GAZ has proceeded supplying these vehicles with CumminsISF turbodiesel engine.

For the first time in Ukraine and right after a debut in Moscow at the MIMS’2010, Bogdan Corporation presented some versions of Bogdan-2310 ranch wagons, new models of A093 (the upgrade of A092 that has become the classics now) and extra small A049 buses.

KAMAZ Marketing Director Ashot Arutyunyan presented his company at the show opening. During eight months of 2010, the products by KAMAZ occupied over 50% of the Ukrainian new heavy-duty trucks market. The company’s main task is to retain this figure henceforward.

The Kremenchuk Automobile Plant first brought to Kyiv its latest bonnetless dump truck C20 and told as well about other new models for the nearest future. At the press conference, the Immediate Post Director General for AutoKrAZ Igor Fomenko noted that the company almost doubled the realization of motor vehicles during 8 months of the current year as compared with the same period of 2009.

The segment of pull-type technology was weighty as well. These are КOEGEL, SCHMITZ and KRONE plus Dhollandia hydraulic tail lifts.

Professionals could take advantage of special test ground to try out some kinds of motor vehicles.

AutoTechService’2010 is a satellite fair of TIR’2010.

Exhibit of the 20th collection of car service offers includes the companies dealing with maintenance equipment, tools, spare parts and components to motor vehicles. Organizers and participants consider such a supplement to commercial vehicle display quite logic. After all, professional audience of the freight motor show is simultaneously the attendance of car service display. BOSCH, Polek-Top, Rolser, Planet Equipment and Terex are in the list of companies exhibiting at AutoTechService’2010.

Ceremonial opening of the show gathered a great number of trade visitors and media executives.

Commercial Representative of the Russian Federation in Ukraine S. Ivanov, Principal of Transport Logistics Department under EURO’2012 Steering Board Victor Safin, Vice-president of Ukrautoprom Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers E. Hazan, Vice-president of the Association of International Road Carriers of Ukraine L. Dokil, President of GAZ Group Bou Inge Andersson and KAMAZ Marketing Director A. Arutyunyan attended the ceremonial opening.

The RF Commercial Representative Mr. Ivanov focused attention on the recovery of economic relations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine to previous state and on the increase of turnover between the two countries. In his view, these trends have to exert positive influence on the state of transport and warehousing services and on the Russian commercial motor vehicle sales volume.

TIR'2010 has solid figures. It is now over 7 000 m² in the expo-blocks of the IEC, outdoors and almost 150 exhibitors.

Since yearly morning, on October 5, special measures for journalists and trade visitors were launched. These are presentations, press conferences, and briefings. Comprehensive display and great variety of brand-news of the Ukrainian commercial vehicle market aroused interest of trade visitors and automobile journalists. The 120 journalists presenting 4 TV Channels, 5 information agencies, many business, sociopolitical + specialist media and dedicated Internet resources accredited at the Press Center of the Show.

Almost 11,000 people visited TIR’2010, including branch experts, forwarders, and members of small and medium-sized businesses.

On October 8, at the ceremonial closing of the 6th International TIR’2010 Commercial and Freight Vehicle Show and AutoTechService’2010 Trade Fair, some exhibitors were rewarded with prizes and certificates.
 
Grand Prizes of TIR’2010 were given to KAMAZ (for successful brand promotion), AIS Group (for presentation of Gazel Business and Sobol Business models), Renault Ukraine (for presentation of Logan van family), Scania Ukraine and to Polek-Top, the exhibitor of AutoTechService Fair.
